It’s time for me to compose a piece.

My name is Sanjana, and I’m a student from Austin, Texas. I’ve been playing the flute for almost 6 years. What once started as an interest has developed into a passion, but I never tried my hand at writing pieces. I’ve always been interested in composing, but I have limited music theory knowledge and experience. I think that from the knowledge I have gained through being in my high school’s band as well as from being a flute player, I can craft a relatively expressive and cohesive piece. However, it won’t be easy. I’m charting my progress on this blog so anyone who reads it can see how I went from a tentative idea to a developed piece. There are many parts I have to consider to make this project work. I hope you’ll enjoy watching my process!
